So, per popular demand I am updating this blog. There have been a lot of things that I've wanted to put up here lately but unfortunately I just haven't had time and now I can't remember any of it. So technically, I'm "winging" this one. Yes, I know, it seems like all of my posts are "winged" but really, in my own way, I put a lot of planning into it. I don't really spend a lot of time planning them, but theres always something that sparks my interest in blogging at that spark usually takes me on an interesting journey. Today, there is no such spark, but I haven't posted in a while and Lauren needs a good reason to put off studying for her exams, so here we are.
So, I'm on a diet. I know, I know, "but Wolfgang, you already have a wonderful physique, why would you need to go on a diet?" hehe *blush* thanks guys, but the truth of the matter is that I could stand to lose a few pounds. Fact of the matter is that I've gained a lot of weight since December and I know exactly why. Let me explain. Sidenote: I'm getting pretty gangster at typing using this DVORAK layout. So, last summer Pat was in Peru so I had to ride my bike everpwhere because she wasn't here to give me a ride. That meant 3 miles to class, 3 more miles to work, then 6 miles back home. Not to mention that I was going to the gym, where I lifted weights and ran. AND, on top of all that, I was eating pretty healthy: cereal for breakfast, a sandwhich baby carrots and a yogurt for lunch, and brown rice eggs and chicken for dinner. That was pretty much it. I didn't eat out because Pat wasn't here and I didn't cook anything more exotic because I didn't have Pat to share it with. After summer, I kept up the bike riding and didn't change my eating habits much. All that combined led to me losing a lot of weight and ending up at about 175 lbs at the end of December. That was an all time low for me! And then Pat bought me a car for christmas...
So, after christmas I no longer needed to ride my bike everywhere. Nice! And, I figured since before I lost all that weight I hadn't been gaining any, I could just resume my previous eating habits. Not a good idea. I weighed myself a few weeks ago and found that I now weigh 193 lbs. Damn! So here we are, at diet central. I don't diet like most people. Mainly, I'm just trying not to indulge as much as I have been. I don't eat as much per meal, and I try to choose my meals healthier. I'm not real strict though. I had Goodberry's the other day with Pat and I ate some chocolate bars too. I think I've lost some weight though.
The funny thing is, that although I was glad that I had lost so much weight, I wasn't really happy with the fact that I was such a lightweight. I'm trying to keep my posts short so I'm gonna call it a day. I know this post kinda sucked, but I hope it gives you guys some enjoyment!

And....action!
So, *sigh*, here we are! I actually have a lot that I want to say but don't know if I'll be able to or not. Here's why: I recently switched to a DVORACK keyboard layout and I'm not typing too fast yet and my typing stamina with this layout sucks. Sidenote: I'm currently watching Hannah Montana (not listening to music). I like the show what can I say! I also like Wizards of Waverly Place. I bashed all these new Disney Channel shows when they first came out (being an old school, Even Stevens/Lizzie McGuire/Kim Possible kinda guy) but these two have somehow grown on me. Eh well, wadaya gonna do </sidenote>. (that reads "end sidenote". If you don't get it, learn html). So, you're probably wondering "What the heck is DVORACK Wolfgang? I was expecting another riveting blog post, not a bunch of made-up words!" Well, two things: a) I didn't give you a "bunch" of made-up words: it was just one (is it wierd that I'm correcting a mistake that "you" made in a hypethetical question that I fabricated? A little, but I'm ok with it. It wasn't planned if that's what you're thinking) and b) DVORACK is not a made-up word its a alternative keyboard layout. What's that mean? It means that the way I'm typing, my keys are not in the QWERTY layout. I think this website will help explain better. That keyboard at the bottom is basically what I'm working with. Read the wiki on DVORACK, it'll clear thangs up for you. Ok, so I'm glad we have that cleared that up. If you need more clarification just post a comment.
So, first order of business: what the heck is a "Wolfmafia" anyways (I'm referring to the URL to this blog btw)? Well, thats actually a not-so-long story that goes back to 11th (or was it 10th) grade. I was in auto-tech with a few of my buddies and for some reason Alex decided that I needed a nickname. It took him about 10-15 minutes but he finally decided on "Wolfmafia" (I think he was considering Foxgang at one point). So, they settled on "Wolfmafia" and truth-be-told I only ever heard him use it about 5 times. It wasn't till many many years later that I finally got what he was doing: "wolf" is an animal and "gang" means a group. So, for "Foxgang" he simply replaced "Wolf" with another animal, and with "Wolfmafia" he simply replaced the "gang" with a replacement for "Gang". How clever!!! Not to mention that a mafia is cooler than a gang. Nice nickname right? Not really: it doesn't blend well into everyday conversation. But! When it was time to pick a new PSN (Playstation ScreenName), for some reason it sprang back to mind and I've been using it here and there ever since! And that is that.
Second order of business: actually I forgot it. I'm gonna hope that that means that I actually did get around to everything that I wanted to blog about (if you're having a hard time with those three "thats" just read it out and play with the inflection on the second "that").
Actually I do remember something else I wanted to talk about but this might take a while so strap in. So, I recently bought the "The Watchmen" (I never know if in these situations I need the "the" before the quote or not) graphic novel because the movie looks good and I wanted to watch it with the whole story under my belt. Anywho, I haven't finished the graphic novel (book?) yet but earlier today I decided to read it's Wikipedia entry. Here's why: for some reason, whenever I purchase a piece of popular media (this applies mainly to new CDs but books count too) and I end up liking it, I like to know what the internet thinks about it (usually I figure out what the "internet thinks" in the form of user reviews, like those found on http://music.amazon.com) . Is it good, does it suck, etc... I've narrowed my reasoning for this to three possibilities, and I will list them in ascending order of probability: 1) Maybe I want to know what other people think because if they don't like it, I'll feel silly for liking it (very unlikely, but its a possibility nonetheless), 2) Maybe I want to know what the internet thinks because I hope to find other pieces of popular (or not-so-popular) media that are similar to it (much more likely than the first possibility), or 3) Maybe I care what the internet thinks because if other people like it, then I have backup on my choice, and if other people don't like it, then I can continue to like it on principal and feel satisfied that I'm not just "going with the grain" (the most likely of the three. what can I say, don't we all have a little ego-maniac buried deep inside us somewhere?). So, whatever the reason, I go and look at the Wiki entry for "The Watchmen" (actually one of the reasons was that I was wondering whether or not Rorschach was supposed to be based on Batmen and whether or not The Comedian was supposed to be based on Captain America: turns out that neither of them were, BUT the characters in the graphic novel are supposed to be based on you're stereotypical superheroes. Go figure.) Well, I get to reading about the plot on the wiki (I like to read summaries sometimes to kinda refresh my memory about what I've already read so that I can have a fuller picture in my head about what's going on. I usually do this by reading the back of the book [after I've read enough that I know the summary won't ruin anything] but unfortunately graphic novels don't have a summary on the back [I don't think. I haven't checked but I didn't have the book with me at the time {because I didn't want to mess it up by putting it in my sack}] hence I resorted to Wiki) and I read too far and now two major plot turns (not twists) have been ruined for me! See, after the first spoiler (thats what you call it when someone ruins the plot of something for you), which wasn't so bad by-the-way, I stopped reading the Plot section of the Wiki and started reading the description of Rorschach's character (to settle my Batman question) and I ended reading another spoiler. A big one!!! Grrr I was so upset. I'm glad I was able to share that, though, in all its convuluted glory. I have high hopes for the graphic novel and expect other, better surprises. It still sucks though. *sigh* oh well. That's it for today!
