Wow. This guy really knows how to space them out.

Phew! I hope you didn't hold your breath waiting for this. I know I know I'm sorry loyal readership! What can I say. I've already expressed to you guys that I have way too many hobbies, and that mixed with my horrible time management skills spells not-a-lot-of-blog-posts.

Well, a lot has happened since last we met, but I think I'll start with something that in no way updates you as to what any of that is.

I think that we all know by now that I have my share of problems (however minor or major they may be. I mean, come on, I watch Gilmore Girls for example) but I have realized tonight a blazing problem of mine that really outshine all others. It seems that I... well how can I put this... ok well... I have Chronic Disney Channel Underestimate-itis. We already know that I underestimated Hannah Montanna and Wizards of Waverly Place. I mean, if that wasn't an indication enough that there was a major problem, then I don't know what could have been: they're both great shows for goodness sakes! But know, my condition went un-checked and I went on underestimating Disney Channel programs.

Until today. Today I have come to terms with my condition. I accidentally started watching Hatching Pete. For those of you who don't know, Hatching Pete is a Disney Channel Original Movie about a school mascot. Thats all I'm gonna say because I don't want to ruin the plot for you. Ya see, the short and tall of this (is that a saying) is that I have been avoiding this movie for a long time. I mean, have you seen the commercials? It makes it look totally cliche (with an accent on the e) not to mention that, really, how original could the plot be? Well, I accidentally watched -
time out. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
wholly fuck this episode of Wizards of Waverly Place in HILARIOUS. Pardon my spanish (I dunno why they say french).
Ok time in
- this movie today (I know, its hard to believe that someone could watch a whole movie on accident, but it happens) and it turns out that although the plot wasn't all that original (though it was slightly so) and although the movie was cliche (with the accent on the e. I know how to put it there but I don't want to go through the trouble right now) the movie was actually pretty good! Go figure huh? Not to mention that the movie ended at 9:45 and between that and 10 (when this hilarious episode of Wizards of Waverly Place came on) they showed another show that I been avoiding: Phineas and Ferg. I mean, its a dumb cartoon right? WRONG! The voice acting is surprisingly good and the whole pretense of the show itself is pretty hilarity (have I explained mine and Pat's use of the word hilarity? It is not a real word, but we have defined it as- hilarity (hil'Ar-it-ee) : noun. An object which in itself embodies... aw shux I just looked it up and it is a real word. Anywho, its a noun not an adjective so although it may seem grammatically incorrect to say that something "is hilarity", in reality we are using it as a metaphor, so its all good). Well, the show's pretense itself being so funny, you can imagine how funny the show itself is.

*sigh* my life is exhausting. I mean, look at all these revelations that I made today! And all in the span of a few hours. Not to mention the awesome job that I been doing at my internship (I would update you on this but that just wouldn't be my steelo). And I haven't even begun my summer workout regimen! Well, its no wonder, as exhausted as I am after a full day of kick-ass interning and revelation-having.

Till next time
peec

p.s. I've taken up cartography.

update: In Ocean's 11 when they go down the elevator shaft during the blackout then cut the cords, wouldn't the cords dangle and set off the infrared sensors? I think they would.

[I was gonna put I clip of the movie here but couldn't find it. Instead I'll put I snippet of the script so you know what I'm talking about. Its at the bottom.]

EXT. BELLAGIO PARKING LOT - TOP LEVEL - 00:01 198
Basher finishes preparations.
BASHER
(into his mike)
Ready.
LIVINGSTON (V.O.)
(over earpiece)
Then hit it.
Basher flips the switch. BOOM! A quick TREMOR, then
stillness. He picks a point on the horizon, like Babe
Ruth, and suddenly...
BASHER
... One...
OCEAN'S 11 - Rev. 10/24/00 118.
199 HIGH ABOVE LAS VEGAS 199
whole blocks of lights disappear. Casinos vanishing one-
by-one.
FLAMINGO
Every pink light vanishes.
BELLAGIO
The fountain goes flaccid.
BASHER (V.O.)
... two, three...
NEW YORK, NEW YORK
The roller coaster stops dead; its passengers keep their
arms raised, not sure what to do.
200 MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA 200
Both fighters move in simultaneously, sweat flying, both
reach back, both going for the lights-out power cut to
the jaw, when... lights out.
BASHER (V.O.)
... four, five...
201 OMITTED 201
202 INT. ELEVATOR SHAFT 202
Blip -- out go the infrared sensors.
DANNY
Now!
And he and Linus lean forward and fall...
203 HURTLING WITH DANNY AND LINUS 203
DOWN the elevator shaft.
Upside down, heads curled, and all we hear is the WHOOSH
of their bodies in motion and the WHIRL of their CORDS
UNCOILING.
(CONTINUED)
OCEAN'S 11 - Rev. 10/24/00 119.
203 CONTINUED: 203
BASHER (V.O.)
... six, seven.....
And now, looking STRAIGHT DOWN, the ground is rising up
fast to meet them, a flat slab of gray concrete -- fifty
feet, forty feet, thirty feet, twenty...
BASHER
... eight, nine...
And SNAP -- the CORDS reach their full extension, and
Danny and Linus bounce up, watching the floor recede.
LINUS
Aaaaahhhhh!
204 EXT. BELLAGIO PARKING LOT - TOP LEVEL - NIGHT 204
BASHER
... ten...
In the distance, lights come up again, first at the
Mirage, then the MGM, gradually approaching...
205 INT. ELEVATOR SHAFT - BOTTOM 205
Coming to a rest about ten feet from the floor, Danny
quickly pulls a slim blade and slashes the two coils
straight across. He and Linus go tumbling to the floor
as their drop lines recoil lightning fast to their
elevator anchors, just before...
... the infrared lights go back on-line.

Well look at that! How convenient! Now I have to rewind to see how obvious this "lightning fast" recoil is...
It isn't. They don't even show what happens to the cable. They just leave it open-ended so that poor sods (its a british word) like me lose sleep over these inconsistencies. I'm convinced that that script clip is from the original, not the remake. I don't know. GEEZ!

  1. Haha is that the only part of Ocean's 11 you find to be unrealistic?
